Moishele (Mario) Alfonso has been a Yiddish teacher at the Yiddish Book Center since 2019.. In 2022, he transcribed a Yiddish edition of Isaac Bashevis Singer’s Sonim: Di geshikhte fun a libe (Enemies: A Love Story), originally serialized in the Forverts in 1966. This edition, published by Olniansky Tekst Farlag, is the first time Sonim appeared in book form in the original Yiddish.
