about the new Yiddish textbook Ikh Muz Dertseyln

We’re thrilled to announce the recent publication of Sheva Zucker’s Ikh muz dertseyln: Lernbukh far vaythalters bazirt af der zikhroynes-literatur, Vol. I, and are hoping that you will consider using this innovative teaching tool in your advanced classes, reading circles or for your own personal edification.



Please join us for this informative seminar with Sheva, designed especially for teachers and krayzfirers who are considering using this book, either in whole or in part (e.g. either the autobiographical texts or the grammar alone). We will discuss:

1. The contents of this book;

2. Who is the appropriate user of this book;

3. How to teach from the book, addressing such questions as:

a) How to work with the authors’ biographies and the historical events mentioned in the texts;

b) How to teach the grammar included in the book;

c) How to incorporate conversation and contemporary vocabulary into your class or krayz.
