Verter fun der Vokh (Words of the Week) — the beloved series of
thematic word lists that has delighted readers and students around the world —
turns 13 this year. The League for Yiddish has already posted hundreds of lists,
covering every imaginable topic: 
Holidays, Food, Clothing, Politics, Society,
Animal sounds, and many more. In this interview, the editor and poet will
share the story behind the project, how it all began, and which topics have
most captivated our audience. She will also reflect on her poetry,
her Yiddishist upbringing on Bainbridge Avenue in the Bronx, and
her work on the monumental Comprehensive English-Yiddish Dictionary.
