Pregnancy, Childbirth and Early Childhood: An English-Yiddish Dictionary is a terminological dictionary that encompasses a sizable number of terms from several fields: human anatomy, physiology and pathology, obstetrics, child care, child psychology, early childhood education and others. This dictionary is intended for Yiddish linguists, teachers, students and language aficionados as well as for young speakers of Yiddish who have established, or are planning to establish, families of their own and raise their children in Yiddish. Most entries is this specialized handbook are not found in any existing Yiddish dictionary and many are not even listed in Stutchkoff’s unabridged thesaurus Oytser fun der yidisher shprakh.
